Ravita Mayor is the founder of Lyra I Banjara Hills Innovations, a fashion design and lifestyle consultancy company. Ravita started her career in the mid-nineties, and in 1998, she established her own brand of Indo-fusion clothing called Cocoon. Her first show featured handwoven fabric and weaves from Assam and Maheshwar. As a designer, she has showcased her creations around the world, including in Washington, London, and various cities in India. She has even displayed her work at the prestigious Darpana Academy of Performing Arts in Ahmedabad.
Ravita was born and raised in Assam and has a deep connection to the Northeastern traditions and culture. Her interest in weaving began in her childhood, as her grandfather was a prominent figure in the sociopolitical scene and had brought a large section of the weaving community under his patronage.
After marrying into a family of powerful women who had made their mark in various fields like dance, politics, and art around the world, Ravita was inspired to pursue social entrepreneurship, supported by her industrialist husband. She completed a course in fashion design from the prestigious New York University, and as an entrepreneur, she specializes in lifestyle consultancy, fashion design, corporate dressing, and jewelry design & best wedding dresses.
